As a Cub Scout, you will be part of your own pack.<\/p>\n
The pack is divided into smaller groups called dens. Each den is a group of Scouts who are in the same grade, working on the same requirements together.<\/p>\n
The Cub Scout pack belongs to an organization in community or neighborhood. This group makes sure your pack has good adult leaders, a place to meet, and exciting things to do. The group gets help from the BSA, which is part of Scouting around the world.<\/p>\n
Boys and girls are both welcome in Cub Scouting! Our program has a great deal to offer all youth, and we are excited to help everyone grow, learn, and discover together.<\/p>\n
Each level of Cub Scouting has its own requirements and electives, broken into unique Adventures. At each rank, Cub Scouts must complete seven adventures. Some of these adventures are taught at den meetings, using hands on activities and games to teach Scouts while engaging them in something fun! Other adventures include field trips into the community, or welcome members of the community into den meetings to talk with the Scouts about what they do.<\/p>\n
Have you been to the local police station and talked to the policemen on duty? Or visited the fire station and sat in the driver\u2019s seat of the pumper truck? Or visited the local radio station and sat in the news anchor\u2019s chair? These are some of the places you might go with your Den or Pack.<\/p>\n
Cub Scouts also participate in a variety of Pack outings throughout the year, and even participate with the older Scouts Troop where middle school and high school Scouts teach and encourage younger Scouts. These can range from fun outings to go fishing and play games to overnight campouts where we perform skits, explore nature, and enjoy s’mores and laughs around the campfire.<\/p>\n
Each time you complete and accomplishment or learn a new skill, Scouts are rewarded! Adventures award Scouts belt loops or pins to wear on their uniform with pride. Other activities reward patches that can be worn on a brag vest to show off how much fun they have had! Sometimes, the reward is a high five and the smile of pride from leaders and parents for learning a new skill – and the opportunity to show off their hard work in front of the Pack!<\/p>\n
